ArAb spring in egypt
Libya, Egypt,Yemen, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan , and Syria. These are all countries affected by the Arab spring. The Arab spring was a long reign of rebellions in North Africa. The Arab spring started in December of 2010 when a man by the name of Muhammad Bouazizi, lit himself on fire in protest of government brutality. Though this happened in Tunisia the fire of the rebellion spread across North Africa. Egypt's rebellion started before this event happened but it fueled their revolution against their harsh president (Husain Mubarak) , who had been forcing his reelection for many years.
Not much later in February of 2011 Mubarak stepped down from power and gave it to the army council. Even then the citizens of Egypt were not satisfied. The army had been the oppressors and the change in power had not helped with the government brutality. Part of the reason for Mubarak giving the power to the army was that he was afraid of the Muslim brotherhood taking power. The Muslim brotherhood soon pushed for power. In December of 2011 a new prime minister takes office by the name of Kamal al- Gonzouri. And as a new year dawns the Muslim brotherhood takes power in January of 2012. A new Muslim president named Muhammad Morsi gets elected in June. This soon starts a feud between Muslims , the Egyptian military, and the liberals. In December of 2012 the new government creates a new constitution that restricts freedoms of speech and assembly. As 2013 comes around many people are killed in protests against the new constitution. In July of 2013 the army over throughs president Morsi. Next the United States pulls out their support(money) in Egypt. In December the Muslim brotherhood is declared a terrorist group. As a new year comes a new president is elected named Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and a new constitution is made banding political parties based on religion. Finally in 2015 president Morsi gets 20 years in prison for ordering the torture and arrest of protesters during his rule.

Egypts republic
The government of Egypt is a republic. Although a republic is technically ruled by the people, a constitution is in place that really rules the people. In Egypt's republic there is a prime minister and president that co-rule. Today, the people have many rights and freedoms such as electing leaders, freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Before Egypt changed the constitution after Morsi was pushed from rule Egypt had a Islamic republic which did not have as many rights or freedoms for the general public. But they changed the construction again giving more power to the people.
Egypt never changed their government but many of their past leaders have tried turning a republic in to a dictatorship. There have been many different constitutions in Egypt too, so Egypt never really changed their government it was more just changing the rules the government has.
